JASO Next event: Monday Mixer

NEXT is partnering with JASO corporate member PLACE design studio to host a members-only social mixer and photography exhibition featuring the work of acclaimed English photographer Michael Kenna! This event will be the final exclusive showing of Mr. Kenna’s exhibit Trees 1973 - 2023, 50 photographs curated by Mark Silva, a showcase of his 50-year photography career and featuring many scenes photographed in Japan. 

Welcome: JASO and NEXT members over age 21

Time: 5:30 pm doors open
6:00 to 8:00 pm viewing and social (light refreshments and beverages are provided)
JASO members only: $10 per person

We’ll hear brief remarks from Mr. Kenna’s assistant Mark, as well as an introduction to PLACE and their role in bringing Portland urban planning, design and engagement to Japanese communities. The remainder of the evening is dedicated to meeting your fellow members, admiring Mr. Kenna’s work and enjoying appetizers and drinks generously provided by PLACE. 

The registration fee for this event is $10 per person and supports NEXT’s mission of fostering the Japan-Oregon connection in young professionals. Prints may be purchased at this event and 10% of all print sales will also be donated toward the furtherance of JASO NEXT.
