JASO is about people. It’s about connecting. It’s about sharing that place in our heart that we have for Japan. It’s about gathering together as a community - passionate about strengthening the bonds between Oregon and Southwest Washington, and Japan.
That’s why we chose 縁, en, as our theme this year – which as a character has layers of nuance with connectivity and relationships, and of destiny.
Join us at our 2023 Gala, which has moved back to its pre-covid spot in the calendar this year. We’ve created a mix of spaces for our evening where you can walk and talk, stop and chat, or sit a while longer as you prefer. Your evening includes an amazing Japanese food selection, full hosted bar, and authentic cultural entertainment. Start new relationships and build current ones by joining colleagues, seeing friends, bringing clients, and creating new connections.
Our Gala is also our General Meeting, so you can meet our new and returning Board members in-person.
Your sponsorship or ticket purchase has a built-in portion which is a donation. Staff support and an office space are essential to the vital efforts over 150 volunteers who plan our work. Your donation ensures over 1,500 elementary school students learn about Japan, high-schoolers and college students are supported in their pursuit of Japan, women are given significant learning opportunities in workplace leadership, business speakers and cross-cultural workshops are hosted, and great social and networking events created. Plus, we continue to reach out; helping other area organizations in their work.
We believe in the power of 縁, and investing in people. Help us by joining our Gala, and have an amazing evening at the same time.
