Izumi Kobayashi is currently Chair of the Board of Directors at Mizuho Financial Group, and serves as Board director at ANA, Mitsui & Co and OMRON.
Her previous leadership positions include Vice Chair of the Keizai Doyu Kai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives), Board Member with the Osaka Securities Exchange and Steering Committee member at NHK.
Kobayashi-san started her career as a secretary at Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation in 1981. After moving to Merrill Lynch Japan in 1985, her career progressed to become President & CEO. After a further move to Washington DC, she served as CEO and EVP of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency in the World Bank Group.
These selected roles are just one part of Izumi Kobayashi’s larger career, where she has influenced and directed a range of corporate and societal progress.
